The short version
Your PDFs are opened and edited inside your own browser. We don’t upload, store or read them. We collect only basic technical logs and the messages you choose to send us.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how EasyPDFPlay (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit easypdfplay.com and use our free, in-browser PDF editor (the “Service”). If you have questions, see the contact details at the end of this policy.
2. Your documents
EasyPDFPlay is built so that your documents stay on your device. When you open a PDF, it is read into your browser’s memory and edited there. When you download the result, the new file is generated in your browser and saved to your device.
- We do not upload, transmit, store, copy or read the contents of your PDFs.
- We do not receive your signature images, annotations or edits.
- Closing or refreshing the tab clears the document from your browser’s memory.
You can verify this yourself by opening your browser’s developer tools and watching the Network tab while you work. What you do with the downloaded file afterwards, including sharing it, is up to you.
3. Information we collect
Because your files never reach us, we collect very little:
- Messages you send us. If you contact us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages requested and timestamps. We use this to keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Analytics. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the Service.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to respond to your enquiries, to operate, secure and improve the Service, to prevent abuse and fraud, and to comply with legal obligations. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in running a safe and useful service, on your consent where you give it, and on legal obligations where they apply.
5. Third-party services
To work, the Service loads open-source libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib and fontkit) from public content delivery networks such as cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net, and web fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these resources, those providers receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser details, under their own privacy policies. They never receive your PDF.
Our website is hosted on standard web hosting infrastructure, which may process server logs on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
7. How long we keep information
We keep messages you send us for as long as needed to respond and for our records, normally no longer than twenty-four (24) months. Server logs are typically retained for up to thirty (30) days unless needed to investigate abuse or security incidents.
8. Security
The Service is delivered over HTTPS, and processing your files locally greatly reduces their exposure. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your device and browser up to date and be careful with downloaded files, especially those containing sensitive information.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information.
11. International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice on the website.
