How to add text to a PDF
- Open your PDF. Choose the file in the upload box on the home page.
- Select Add text. The editor prompts you to click on the page and type your text.
- Click where the text should go and type. Zoom your browser if you need to place text precisely on a thin line.
- Format it. The text options bar lets you set the text colour, opacity, font, size (8 to 64), bold, italic, underline and left, centre or right alignment.
- Select Download PDF. The new copy is saved to your device with the text on the page.

Limits you should know about
- Text is placed on the page. EasyPDFPlay does not read or fill a PDF’s interactive form fields, so other software may not see your entry as field data.
- It adds text you type. There is no automatic date, page-number or header and footer feature.
- To change words that are already in the PDF, use Edit text instead.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add text to a scanned PDF?
Yes. Added text sits on top of the page, so it works even when the page is an image. You just cannot edit the scanned text itself.
Can I choose the font and size?
Yes. Choose a font from the list or search Google Fonts, then set a size from 8 to 64, and turn on bold, italic or underline. If you use a Google Font, your browser downloads the font file from a public CDN; your PDF is not sent anywhere.
What is the difference between Add text and Edit text?
Add text puts new text wherever you click. Edit text changes the existing text in the PDF.
Can I move or undo text after placing it?
Use Undo and Redo to step back and forth while you work. Check the page before you download.
Is it really free with no watermark?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark on the downloaded PDF.
