How to sign a PDF on your phone

You do not need an app. Open EasyPDFPlay in your phone’s browser, draw your signature with a finger or stylus, place it and download the signed copy.

This opens the editor’s upload box on our home page. Your PDF is opened in your browser and is not uploaded.

The short answer

Open the PDF in EasyPDFPlay in your phone’s browser, tap Add signature, draw or type it, tap the spot on the page and select Download PDF.

Step by step

  1. Open the editor in Safari, Chrome or another current mobile browser and choose your PDF.
  2. Tap Add signature. Draw with your finger or stylus, type your name, or upload an image.
  3. Tap where it should go. Drag to move it and drag the blue dot to resize it.
  4. Add the date. Use Add text. See how to add a date.
  5. Download or share. Select Download PDF, or Share where your device supports the share sheet.

Tips on a small screen

  • Turn your phone sideways to get a larger signature box.
  • Pinch-zoom the page to place the signature precisely.
  • Open the saved PDF once and check it before sending.

What to know first

  • The signature is an image, not a certified digital signature.
  • Whether it is accepted depends on the document and your country.
  • You cannot send the document to others to sign. It is for your own copy.
